Eric Leonardis


Bio:  Eric is a graduate researcher at the Andrea Chiba Lab, is trained by the NSF's Temporal Dynamics of Learning Center, and is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego. He is currently researching social neuroscience, developing brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, and studying online social communication. This avid house enthusiast seeks to use new technologies, like BCI and audio/visual tech, to create immersive educational experiences.

Steven Kerns


Bio: Steven Kerns has just begun his first year at Harvard Law, and is an environmental scientist and US Army veteran from Long Beach California. After wrapping up a service year as a CivicSpark Water Fellow, he is beginning his pursuit of mastering environmental law at Harvard Law school. Steven has previously worked at NASA JPL doing ecological forecasting for southern California wetlands, he has done research in the rainforests of Costa Rica, and is a former fellow of the Global Studies Institute. He is the founder of the ITS Music Playground, a key organizer of The Cloud, and a long time member of the electronic music community.

Caleb "Cartographer" Robertson


Bio: Founder of the Trash Pirates and Waste Warriors. Caleb has dedicated his life to the preservation of the earth’s ecosystem through education and waste stream management. Caleb is deeply engrained in music festival culture and well recognized within our community He is an original member of the ITS Music Playground and The Cloud.

Tessa Verhoef

Tessa Verhoef conducts research at the intersection of language, cognition, cultural evolution and computation. Tessa is an Assistant Professor of Computation x Creativity at Leiden University in the Netherlands. After finishing a BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence, she obtained her PhD in Language Evolution at the University of Amsterdam. Currently, she is has recently finished her postdoc at the University of California, San Diego, where she conducted her NWO Rubicon research at the Center for Research in Language (CRL).

Lena Freij


Bio: Lena graduated from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) with a BA in Environmental Science and Policy. She has professional and volunteer experience using environmental science, including interning as a restoration ecologist for the LB Wetlands, interning with the Office of Sustainability at CSULB to create a sustainability tracking and rating system, and assisting in a tree planting program in low-income neighborhoods in LA. She is currently studying for the Law Schools Admissions Test to continue on to law school and pursue her dream of saving the planet.

Amy Kells


Amy Kells is a multidisciplinary artist based in Southern California. Formally trained in Illustration, Design, and Creative writing, Amy obtained her BFA from Laguna College of Art and design in 2016. She is passionate about poetry, drawing, painting, design, and illustration both traditional and digital. She is also exploring the visual world of music culture by live painting and vending at music festivals and underground events. Check out her work at Trifecta Trading Co!

Fernando Contreras

Fernando is a post-baccalaureate researcher at the Andrea Chiba Lab and the INC at UC San Diego, where he also received a BSc. degree in Systems Bioengineering. His recent endeavors focus on human-machine interaction and social complexity from a Cognitive Science perspective. New to the electronic music community, Fernando aims to empower its members through personal and scientific insight.
